« Toys for sale » de Slim Safont

This mural done for @grenoblestreetartfest, is made in front of the school and sports area frequented by young people during all day. I made this picture while walking on the streets of Kosovo.

The image has a very open frame of interpretation, although it clearly leads us to reflect on the changes in the idea of « game » and “playing” that we observe in the new generations of young people. While in front of them they have an enormous range of possibilities between dolls, balloons, gadgets, balls or water pistols, the young people keep all their attention on surely some type of digital game on their mobile phone while the rest of the toys are offered for sale. A very clear metaphor of the changes in the interests of youth, of their way of relating to their social environment, and of how the advancement of new technologies increasingly makes traditional roles disappear and change.
