« Generation solidarity » de Jack Lack
Gymnase Louis Carrel,7 Rue Roger Barbe Seyssinet
My latest project for Street Art Fest Grenoble-Alpes is a homage to all the teenagers during the last two years. With colours based on the breathtaking mountain environment and on the objects around this huge wall.
The wall shows one girl three times having a good time hanging out with herself(s). It is a “thank you” to a generation that had a significant cut in their path of growing up and got blamed nonetheless. During the lockdown period, 20/21 schools and gyms were closed together with the cancelation of all other social activities. The kids were left with themselves and the virtual world as their company. As kids are ridiculously adaptive, I am certain they will make up for the lost period in no time and this will be forgotten. So, this wall, showing the same girl forming her own best friend group, is a snapshot of an abstract time when kids were forbidden to play with each other and squeezed into the digital world instead.
